New routing galore!

Brad and I went climbing at Fairy Cave Quarry yesterday, after been away for a while.

The day was a little damp to start, so I decided to do Back to Basics (VD) to begin with. A little bit of a struggle up the crack and corner but it went fine.

Brad then lead Balch's Slide (HS 4a). A climb I've previously wimped out on two thirds up!

Bored of just ticking routes, we decided to see if we could find something new to climb. I spied a line up some broken rock and finishing with a slab. Brad found an interesting line a bit further down, starting with a slab and then following a rib to the top.

It's fun climbing in to the unknown, not knowing if you will reach the top or fail and have to retreat.

Thankfully we both completed the climbs, and thought they were of a similar grade (HVD). I called mine Bonner's Route, not sure Brad has named his yet!

A great day!

The end of a great day!
