Running Update - March

I haven't done any climbing lately what with one thing or another, but the past couple of weeks has been good for the running. With 40km already clocked up this month, I'm already beating last months total by far, and we're not even half way through the month!

I've been mixing it up with more barefoot running and the rest of it shod. I've also purchased a pair of New Balance MT110 shoes, which are a trail racing flat which I've been looking forward to trying for the best part of a year. They're working out really well so far.

Yesterday I done a 5km loop in the forest that I often do. I was going at a fairly good pace and came close to matching my PB 5k. I was however putting quite a bit of effort in to the run. Today I ran the same loop, but this time barefoot. The perceived effort was much less - meaning I was more efficient - and completed it only 53 seconds slower than yesterday. Not bad.

The ankle issue is mostly sorted, feels a little tight at times but should work itself out.

(note the small blood blister on my right foot - I actually done this last night walking out to the car but it didn't effect the run at all)
