New Forest 10 full, never mind...

I went to sign up for the New Forest 10 miler the other day, unfortunately to find that it had filled up already. So my chance this year has gone, unless I know anyone with a spare space.

Not to worry too much however, as today I had a fantastic 10 mile run right from my front door!

After a 4.5 mile run on Friday, I was feeling a bit dubious about the run I had planned as my IT band has still been a little achy, but no pain at all when running.

When I awoke this morning the sun was out and my legs felt pretty good, so I decided why not? I filled up with scrambled eggs on toast for breakfast and got ready.

I had planned to keep the pace easy, and make this a long slow run. My general pace stayed around 8 and half minute/mile for the first road section, then slowed down to 9 or 10 minute/mile for the last half of the run - mainly because of the hills!

I stopped on top of Pepperpot Hill and refueled myself with dried fruit and raisins. Then carried on downhill to cross the farmland before heading back in to the village. My overall time was 1:37.

Best run in ages!!

Going up! - Looking back to where I've come from.
