After my great 10 mile run the other weekend, I had a couple of shorter runs the two days after and then had a rest day. I had a slight ache around my right ankle, but didn't think much of it at the time. Thursday came round and I decided to go for a run. All was going well until about 10 mins from the end, when a sharp pain suddenly hit my lower leg and caused my to stop immediately.
I walked back to the car with a slight limp.
It's been a week and the pain is still mostly there. The pain is sharp when bearing weight on it. I have self diagnosed it as a stress fracture in my right fibula. Unfortunately this won't go away over night, and can take a few weeks to heal up, so looks like running is off the scene for a while.
Climbing is still on though. Brad and I went to Hedbury Quarry and Dancing Ledge last weekend, and should be doing some more this weekend.
I might dust the bike off too, and do some non weight bearing exercise instead of running.
