Last weekend Brad and I went to the local chalk quarry in Harnham for some mixed climbing. To our surprise we actually had a really good time! We have been before, but with things snowing and frozen it made the climbing a bit better.
We first started on a short wall near the back of the quarry and climbed some steep and very loose rock. We then headed over to an gentler slope and climbed some easy lines. Lastly we traversed probably the most solid section of rock in the quarry - which actually made quite a testing line! I graded it about M5 and called it Charlie Chalk, after that children's tv character from the 90's.
I've done a couple of runs during the week, the second of which on Friday I made a new PB for 10km in 47.56s. Pleased with that!!
Saturday Cerian and I went for a walk at Martin Down Nature Reserve just outside Salisbury, and also went to Win Green Hill for a quick stroll and to enjoy the views.
Finally, this afternoon Cerian and I did a five and half mile run in the forest. A sunny afternoon made the forest look lovely. Nice way to end the weekend!
Looks like the weather is getting wet again this week, so not sure if we can get any outdoor climbing done next weekend. But we'll see.
Plenty of running to be had though!!
